Cookies & Similar Technologies
Last updated: 22 September 2026
This policy explains how Pick-a-Playr uses cookies, local storage, secure device storage, identifiers, and similar technologies across the website, web application, and mobile application.
1. Scope
Different technologies are used depending on whether you access Pick-a-Playr through a browser or the native mobile application. Browser cookies are not the same as mobile secure storage or identifiers used by platform services, so this policy explains them separately.
2. What cookies are
Cookies are small pieces of data stored by a browser when you visit a website or use a web service. Similar technologies can include local storage, secure storage, device or application identifiers, and session tokens.
3. Necessary website and web-application cookies
The Pick-a-Playr website or web application may use cookies or equivalent browser storage that are necessary to provide core functionality such as authentication, session management, security, navigation, and remembering temporary service state. Where a technology is strictly necessary to provide a service you request, it may be used without optional advertising consent where applicable law permits.
4. Flask web sessions
The Pick-a-Playr web application uses server-backed session functionality to keep authenticated users signed in and to maintain temporary application state. Session-related cookies may therefore be required when using the browser-based application.
5. Mobile authentication storage
The native mobile application does not rely on browser cookies for its normal authenticated API session. It may use secure device storage to keep authentication tokens and related session information so that you can remain signed in. This information is used for authentication and service security rather than advertising.
6. Auth0
Auth0 provides Pick-a-Playr authentication. During sign-in, Auth0 may use cookies, session information, or other technologies necessary to provide and secure its authentication service. Auth0's own privacy and technology practices may also apply when you interact with its hosted authentication pages.
7. RevenueCat and app-store identifiers
Where paid subscriptions are enabled, RevenueCat, Google Play, and the Apple App Store may use account, transaction, device, or application identifiers needed to process purchases, restore subscriptions, prevent fraud, and reconcile entitlement. These are not Pick-a-Playr browser advertising cookies.
8. Advertising technologies
Standard accounts may be supported by advertising. Where advertising technology is introduced, it may use device, app, or advertising identifiers and similar technologies to deliver and measure ads. Personalised advertising will only be used where the user is eligible and the required consent has been obtained. Users under 18 are restricted to non-personalised advertising.
9. Current mobile advertising status
At the date of this policy, the Pick-a-Playr mobile application does not have a live third-party advertising SDK connected. The in-app advertising component is currently a placeholder. This policy and the relevant consent and store disclosures will be updated before a third-party advertising provider is used to process user or device data.
10. Analytics and crash technologies
At the date of this policy, the Pick-a-Playr mobile application does not use a dedicated third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK. If analytics, crash reporting, or similar measurement technology is introduced, this policy and the applicable privacy disclosures will be updated before that technology is used.
11. Advertising preferences
Where advertising is enabled, eligible users may be offered a choice between non-personalised and personalised advertising. Your advertising preference may be stored against your Pick-a-Playr account so that it can be applied consistently. You can change an available advertising preference through Pick-a-Playr settings.
12. Browser controls
Most browsers allow you to inspect, block, or delete cookies. Blocking cookies that are required for authentication, security, or session management may prevent parts of the browser-based Pick-a-Playr service from working correctly.
13. Mobile operating-system controls
Your device operating system and app-store account may provide additional privacy, tracking, advertising, purchase, or identifier controls. These controls are managed by the relevant platform and may affect how third-party platform services operate.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when Pick-a-Playr introduces or removes cookies, SDKs, advertising providers, analytics tools, authentication methods, subscription services, or other similar technologies. The latest version will be shown with an updated date.
